mdkruse2 asked:

I have an old emerson 1964 phonograph with a vacuum tube amplified stereo unit. I can't tell if the speakers are busted or if the vacuum tubes are worn out. I wanted to test the vacuum tubes, and I have an ohmmeter/voltmeter. There are about 8 or 9 pins on the vacuum tube. I think they are dual triode tubes. I don't know which of those pins to test to see if i can pass current through them. Does anybody know of any schematics for these tubes? Or maybe you know more about this phonograph? Sound comes from the contact between the needle and the record, but not through the speakers. They do crackle a little if I mess with the volume know or gain setting.
